Join trade mission to India

Lancashire businesses are being invited by the Department for International Trade (DIT) to join a five-day UK Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing trade mission to India next month.

By 2025, India’s manufacturing sector will be worth over £0.5 trillion ranking it in the Top 3 manufacturing destinations in the world.

It will also be well on the way to being the world’s largest economy. The UK already employs approximately 1.3 million people in 29,000 advanced engineering companies.

The UK and India share a special relationship in manufacturing and engineering. To read more, click here.

The first National Festival of Making will take place in Blackburn, Lancashire in May 2017

The first National Festival of Making will take place in Blackburn, Lancashire on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May, 2017.

With twice the national average of people employed in the manufacturing industry, and a community of talented and creative makers working from homes and studios in Lancashire and around the North West of England, the festival will be a vibrant celebration of our unrivalled making heritage and its bright future.

Manufacturers large and small will collaborate with artists on a series of new commissions, interlacing often traditional techniques and materials with challenging, contemporary ideas, each to be revealed as part of the final two day, town centre festival.
